Peru’s E-2 Approvals are Stable
Peru does not have an active E-2 visa treaty with the U.S. Therefore, Peruvians do not qualify for the E-2 investor visa. Citizens of countries without an E-2 visa treaty usually apply using their second nationality (if they have dual nationality from an E-2 treaty country) or by participating in citizenship by investment programs (e.g., Grenada) to obtain E-2 eligible citizenship. E-2 Visa for Peruvians
Although Peru is not in the E-2 treaty countries, the U.S. consulate in Peru has processed many E-2 visas. Peruvians may have dual citizenship by descent with E-2 visa countries as Italy, Spain, or Germany. Some have also opted to obtain a Grenada visa. Taking advantage of the second nationality has been a great tool to access the E-2 visa.

In 2021, Peru, despite having lower numbers than the upward trend of visa issuance in recent years (before the COVID-19 pandemic) remains stable at historic levels. The fact that Peru is not an E-2 visa treaty country has not had a significant impact compared to other Latin American countries that do not have a treaty, such as Brazil.
