Germany’s citizens have an active treaty with the U.S. where they qualify to apply for the E-2 investors visa. If you would like to learn more about the E2 visa and the countries that qualify click here.
Germany was, by far, one of the European treaty countries that receive the most E2 visa approvals every year. Nowadays, it’s getting closer to previous years’ issuances numbers.
COVID-19 pandemic was a blow to Germany approvals, but they recovered pretty quickly. Germany continues to be one of Europe’s biggest Powerhouse.
Are you a German national and you’re interested in moving to the U.S.? If so, this article is for you.
We are going to go through what the E2 Investor Visa is. As well as some potential business opportunities that are popular with our clients from Germany.
Visa Franchise is a business that’s been around for nearly seven years that I, Patrick Findaro, co-founded with my brother and business partner Jack Findaro, and we’ve noticed a big uptick in German nationals. We’ve helped about 450 clients from all over the world, 60 different nationalities, find and analyze businesses for their E2 investor visa. And now we’re seeing a big wave of Germans that are looking to move to the United States.
The E2 visa with Germany has been around for quite some time, and every year there are thousands of Germans that are moving to the United States as investors and businesses or managers at large German multinationals like Siemens.
So, with the E2 visa, we’re gonna focus on the investor visa path for those German entrepreneurs that are interested in moving to the United States.
How do we see it at Visa Franchise? You have two different options. You can either invest $80,000, $100,000 to all the way up to $300,000 or more, run the business day-to-day, 40, 50 hours a week, employ a couple of Americans, and get the E2 visa that way. It can be in a franchise business, you can buy a business, or you can do a startup.
Why I like franchising? We have the data. We can compare the metrics. You can invest in three months. We had a German client that was approved with his E2 visa in Frankfurt who engaged us in May and fast forward two months, he invested. Due to COVID, there was a long time to get the E2 visa, three, four months, it should be more like a month or two.
With the data that’s in a franchise, you can make decisions pretty fast. For buying an existing business, expect to take one to two years, because you’re gonna do due diligence on the business, and there’s gonna be issues.
So with a franchise, you have a much more defined range of when you’re gonna break even, and when you’re able to really get nice profits from the business.
If you have a great idea and, particularly if you’re already doing a lot of business in the U.S. definitely consider a startup. But, if you’re constrained with time, and you’re more risk-averse, it might be a good idea to do your first business investment in the U.S. as a franchise.
So, in summary, if you’re looking to move to the U.S., you’re most likely gonna get the E2 visa from Frankfurt, you’ve got to invest at least $100,000 in a business that’s gonna employ a few Americans, and at Visa Franchise, we have 100% approval rate for Germans for the E2 visa.
We’re well adapted to support whatever need you have. Whether you prioritize a stable business, less risk, high cash flow, if you want a big upside and a potential sale of the business, later on, we’re able to mold our search to what you’re looking for for the E2 visa for your family, as well as whatever your business aspirations are.
